As I enter the new year I am excited to dive into many exciting new projects—including this bi-weekly blog featuring my upcoming projects and some dance related musings!
My summer and fall have been full of new opportunities from an archival internship at the Boston Ballet, to moving to New York, and beginning an apprenticeship with Lori Belilove and the Isadora Duncan Dance Company! For more information on the Isadora Duncan Dance Foundation, and to see what is brewing with this beautiful organization which I have been fortunate enough to find my New York home with check out their end of year newsletter.
Moving forward I am excited to dive into some creative choreographic processes this winter and spring! On June 14th I will be presenting a new duet called A Bird in Her Pocket with Kailey McLaughlin through WAXworks. I am also delighted to announce that I will be participating in the Communities Connecting Heritage Project with Carolyn Dorfman Dance. Through this project I will have the opportunity to connect with a cohort of young female choreographers from Nepal and the United States, and explore the role of heritage, voice, an identity in the choreographic process of female identifying choreographers. This project will culminate with a presentation of work in June, so stay tuned for more updates!
Here is to a 2020 full of creativity, exploration, and new beginnings!
Cheers,
Hannah
Very interested in the Nepal exchange. Sounds like lots of great things planned for 2020.
